Theater for the New City (New York, NY)

Telephone will be screened at Theater for the New City (TNC), one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theaters. This event will be held in person at TNC’s Community Theater and will be followed by a Q&A with co-directors Krishna Washburn (who will join the talkback virtually) and Heather Shaw. San Francisco Dance Film Festival (San Francisco, CA)
Streaming on ODC Connect October 5th-15th
Telephone has been selected to be a part of SFDFF’s 14th annual Festival. From September 22 – October 15, international and locally produced dance films will be featured in various San Francisco theaters and streamed online. Telephone will be streamed internationally as part of the festival on ODC Connect, more information here.

Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ)

Hybrid Live/Virtual Screening
As a part of October Disability Awareness Month, the Mason Gross Dance Department at Rutgers University will host a screening of Telephone, followed by a Q&A with co-directors Heather Shaw and Krishna Washburn (who will both join the event via Zoom).
Students and faculty of Rutgers University will gather live in person, with a virtual component of the event being open to the public, with registration here.

Mill Valley Film Festival (San Rafael, CA)

Presented by CA Film Institute, the Mill Valley Film Festival (MVFF) showcases the best of international independent and studio film. We are excited to announce that Telephone has been selected to be a part of MVFF46.
The October 14th screening of Telephone will include a pre-recorded panel discussion, “Accessibility in Exhibition”, which will include co-director Krishna Washburn. Co-director Heather Shaw will be in-person for a post-screening discussion. Free tickets and information can be found here.

Students of Patrick McKelvey’s class “Disability and Performance” (part of University of Pittsburgh’s new Disability Studies Certificate Program) will have private viewing access to Telephone Film as part of their course curriculum.
