I am in the middle of the street with a cab going by as I drag a 150 plus pound old radiator with a sign on it that says “all that stuff inside” I have a wireless headset on and the radiator has a wireless contact mic on it, it was the intro to a performance several years ago.

Emil Bognar-Nasdor is a music composer and multi disciplinary communications facilitator. Emil was born and raised in New York City and has been sharing artistic expressions publicly since 2003. They have been involved with many creative communities and collaborated along side a multitude of beautiful beings in a variety of mediums as well as a range of solo presentations, performances, projects and physical art works. These practices have included traditional acoustic instruments, body movement, experimental electronics, conceptual works, site specific works, theatrical experiences, endurance performance, improvisational systems, composition, spoken communications, production, writing, light art, collage, painting and sculptural works.


CAMERON LUCAS EGGERS, ASL INTERPRETER

Cameron Eggers is an American Sign Language interpreter working in various facets and communities. Cameron is also a professional theater actor who’s most recent credits include: Phoenix Theatre Company’s Production of Something Rotten, as a member of the ensemble cast. Also, Mesa Encore Theatre’s 85th Season Best of Broadway presentation, and the Herberger Lunchtime Theatre Series. Other credits: interpreting for New Kids on the Block, Paula Abdul, and Beyoncé. Additionally his theatrical interpreting work includes La Cage Aux Folles, Music Man, Cabaret, and On Your Feet. “I am thrilled to join this amazing group of artists for Telephone and grateful for the opportunity to combine my passions of American Sign Language and Dance together”.


MARIAH GROVER, DISTRIBUTION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Mariah is the Telephone team’s new distribution and community engagement coordinator and is thrilled to be on board!

She graduated in May of 2024 with a degree in Cinematic and Media Studies from Vanderbilt University, where she focused her studies on documentary production and editing. She now specializes in the outdoor industry and adventure films and is (mostly) based out of Lake Tahoe, CA. Her film background ranges from being the editor and assistant director of a Czech short film, animating title sequences in AfterEffects, color grading numerous student films, DPing multiple 16mm short films, and directing and shooting her own short outdoor documentaries. Since graduating, she has worked for MountainFilm Festival, co-founded a women+ freeride ski festival, and done social media and marketing for multiple brands. She is thrilled to be a part of the Telephone team, working to find partners and spread the message and film nationwide. Every day, she learns something new from Krishna and Heather about the world of dance, audio description, and film, and she can’t wait to continue this journey with them! 


ALEX ROMANIA, EDITOR

ALEX ROMANIA is a multidisciplinary performing artist, improviser, and filmmaker. Romania is a current Franklin Furnace Fund recipient, a 2024 Djerassi resident artist, a 2022 MacDowell fellow, a 2023 Center for Performance Research AIR, a 2018-2020 Movement Research AIR, and has held residencies at Old Furnace Artist Residency, Tofte Lake Center, Chez Bushwick, and the Brooklyn Arts Exchange. Some of Romania’s current projects include co-directing the film ‘RECKONING’ with Stacy Lynn Smith, the multidisciplinary opera ‘Face Eaters’ (Chocolate Factory Theater, May 2024), co-directorship of the experimental documentary ‘Patch the Sky with Five Colored Stones’ conceived by choreographer Daria Faïn, a collaborative short film entitled ‘Mira, Mira, Mira!’ with Daniela Fabrizi and the Re Hecho community in the LES. Romania has presented internationally at spaces such as Grace Exhibition Space, Abrons Arts Center, Encuentro, Casa Viva, UV Estudios, Sub Rosa Space. Romania has performed in various works by Kathy Westwater since 2013, and in the work of artists such as Simone Forti, Éva Mag, Eddie Peake, Andy de Groat, and Catherine Galasso. As a video collaborator and designer, Romania has had several video designs featured within works by Antonio Ramos, and has worked on film projects with Marin Media Labs, TAAMAS / Sarah Riggs, Trixie Films / Therese Shechter, Christopher Unpezverde Nuñez, Martita Abril, and Sarah White-Ayòn. Since graduating from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2013 with a BFA in Drama, Romania has enjoyed an exciting career in experimental live performance along with parallel work in independent film, video, and design. Romania is excited about how these adventures in deep experimentation may feed developing script-based films and plays, some of which include a budding memoir, and character-based extensions of previous work.


IAN SANBORN, ASL PERFORMER

Ian Sanborn hails from New Hampshire. Currently, he’s working as a production coordinator in the marketing department at Deaf Counseling, Advocacy & Referral Agency in San Leandro, California. He is well known for some of his works such as “Caterpillar” and “Tick Tock” that can be viewed on YouTube. His work has been used worldwide at schools and colleges for study and inspiration on sign language. He was featured in Convo and Sorenson, video relay services for commercials and as a storyteller of the year. He has given workshops: American Sign Language in Creativity and Drama with Stories and Poems. The most recent workshop was at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. Ian enjoys many outdoor activities such as fly fishing, hiking, canoeing, educating about nature, and loves photography, filming, and painting. Being part of Telephone Film, he feels honored to be part of the contribution that supports and gains accessibility within diversified communities.


RYAN WOODHALL, SOUND ENGINEER

Ryan Woodhall is an Audio Producer, Engineer, and Sound Designer based out of New York City working in Podcasts, Video, and Music.
Since 2010, Ryan has lent his ears to a diverse array of content for clients including Red Bull, Audible, Supreme, Nike, Sonos, and Condé Nast.
Ryan is currently an Executive Producer for the DCP Entertainment podcast network, producing podcasts including Toure Show, Who Was Prince?, and the Webby-award winning series Say Their Name.
Ryan is also an active member of the New York experimental music community, as a founding member of the music project Yellow Tears and the Red Light District venue.
