DOCUMENTARY FILM “TELEPHONE”  IN NEED OF TEAMMATE

Join the future of indie film distribution. Filmmakers Heather Shaw and Krishna Washburn seek a hardworking and motivated part-time teammate as they distribute “Telephone”, a documentary about audio description for dance, which allows blind and visually impaired people to be included fully in the joy of artistic expression.

Telephone is a mid length documentary that legitimizes audio description not just as an access tool but as a beautiful, rich art form in its own right. It premiered at NYU, has been screened at Lincoln Center, Mill Valley Film Festival, and more. Check out the recent New York Times article about Telephone here! The filmmakers are collaborating with renown documentary distribution strategist Peter Broderick, to guide the release of the film and train the new teammate in cutting-edge distribution strategies.

Responsibilities include researching potential allies and partners (companies and nonprofits relevant to the film’s message) and reaching out to potential partners and allies.

The candidate must have strong research abilities, phone communication skills, a detail-oriented organizational ability, and enthusiastic attitude. This is a great opportunity to help the story told in Telephone connect with audiences and support the film team’s effort towards arts access and a new frontier of audio description for dance.
